This event took place during the Latin Billboard Conference & Awards week at the popular Miami nightclub LIV at the Fountainblue Hotel in Miami Beach.It was part of the Conference events.
In the Showcase the songwriters that were being honored that night performed some of their songs for the public and after they were presented with their award.
This was an event at the same scale as the After Party for the Billboard Awards. My job in it was anything from managing the registration table to making sure the performers where ready to take the stage when they need to.
SESAC has offices in several parts of the world but the US headquarters for it are in Nashville, TN. For this event I had the pleasure of working side by side with some important executives that were in town for the event.
Although I really enjoyed to participate in the event the greatest enjoyment came weeks later when I received in the mail a gift from the VP of Public Relations of SESAC with a personal note thanking me for my job at the event. This was a great honor for me and gave me more encouragement to keep working to get a place in this industry.
